Martha | Using Stencils to Create Your Own Background

BACKGROUND SIMPLE CON STENCILESHello everyone, Martha Lucia here to share with you the simplest and most beautiful technique to use with your stencils to create your own backgrounds. Today I am using the classic ink pads and the Daisy Stencil, that comes in two layers, one simple and one detailed, that can be used alone or combined to create a variety of effects.

  Materials:
Instructions:
  1. Take a whisper white layer, secure it on your mat using the Mini Masking Tape and take the simple layer of your stencil. Secure your stencil according the position that you want the image. Start to applying the lighter color of ink using the sponge or daubers. In this part I used the daffodil delight and the wild wasabi colors.

 2. Take the darker color and the detailed stencil. Put you stencil in the correct place and secure it with mini masking tape. Apply the ink to create a contrast. Repeat these two steps around the card stock to cover the entire surface. BACKGROUND SIMPLE CON STENCILES
 3. If you necessary, re-size your card stock to create the perfectly-sized layer.
 4. On a piece of whisper white card stock stamp your sentiment and cut it using a Note Tag Punch. BACKGROUND SIMPLE CON STENCILES 5. With linen thread, tie your tag around of your decorated layer. Cut the base of your card from the cajun craze card stock and mount the decorated layer on it using dimensionals or foam adhesive squares. BACKGROUND SIMPLE CON STENCILES If you want, you can mix different colors of ink when you use the simple layer of the Daisy Stencil or mask some parts of the stencil when you are applying the color.
